It is with great pleasure and privilege that I extend this invitation to join us for the tenth annual Tangier Model United Nations conference, which will take place in Tangier, Morocco, starting on December 13th, 2024. Over the past nine conferences, TMUN has provided a unique platform for national and international delegates to engage in meaningful discussions about pressing global issues. Despite the challenges of the past year, our dedicated TMUN team has worked tirelessly to ensure that this year’s conference will be a resounding success, and we are thrilled to welcome you to what promises to be an exceptional event.
This year’s TMUN will feature seven critical and diverse committees: the International Court of Justice, ECOSOC, Environmental Committee, Special Political Committee, United Nations Security Council, Historical Security Council, and the World Health Organization. Each committee will be led by committed chairs, offering all delegates the opportunity to express their views and collaborate with peers from across the globe. The topics of debate within these committees will reflect this year’s central theme, *Human Rights in the Face of Genocide,* which you can explore in greater detail below.
To register for the Tangier Model United Nations 2024 conference, please visit our registration page, where you will find Form A and Form B, along with their respective deadlines. On behalf of the TMUN team and myself, we look forward to welcoming you to our tenth conference, which promises to be our most successful and impactful yet!

MORE ABOUT THIS YEAR'S THEME
"Human Rights in the Face of Genocide" addresses the urgent global challenge of safeguarding fundamental human rights amidst mass atrocities. In recent decades, genocides and acts of ethnic cleansing have emerged as stark reminders of the fragility of human rights protections in conflict zones. From the systematic targeting of ethnic groups to state-sponsored violence, these tragedies highlight the international community's struggle to prevent and respond to the horrors of genocide.
As human rights come under threat, global organizations, governments, and humanitarian bodies are compelled to take decisive action to protect vulnerable populations. This issue raises critical questions about the effectiveness of international conventions, the role of global powers in intervention, and the responsibility of the world to ensure that human rights are upheld, even in the most challenging and volatile situations. The discussion signals the need for a unified approach to preventing genocide and addressing the failures of existing mechanisms to protect humanity from such crimes.
